Meld for points, dig into the pile — first to 500 wins
How to play Rummy 500
Two to four players, every player for themselves
The deal: two players get 13 cards each; three or four players get 7. The next card starts the discard pile, spread out so every card shows.
Your turn: take the top card of the stock, or any card in the discard pile together with every card on top of it. A card you dig out from under others must be melded or laid off this turn.
Melds: three or four of a kind, or three or more in a row of one suit. You may also lay off cards on any meld on the table, anyone's.
The joker: wild. When it could stand for more than one card you choose which; once melded it keeps that meaning.
Points: cards you meld or lay off count for you: aces 15 (1 when melded low, in A-2-3), kings, queens and jacks 10, number cards their number, jokers 15. Cards still in your hand when the hand ends count against you, an ace at 15.
Going out: meld or lay off all your cards, with or without a final discard.
No stock left: play goes on from the discard pile; a player who chooses not to take from it ends the hand.
Winning: the first to 500 wins. If two are level at the top, play another hand.
Choosing a card: tap a card to lift it, tap it again to discard it — or use the button. Press and hold a card to move it in your hand.
Keyboard: ← → move through your hand, Enter lifts or discards the card, S stock, D discard pile, H hint, Escape closes a panel.
