Start by placing an **Ante**. You may also place an optional **5+1 Bonus** side bet before the cards are dealt.
You and the dealer each receive five cards. Your cards are visible to you, while only one of the dealer’s cards is dealt face up.
After checking your hand and the dealer’s exposed card, you have two choices:
* **Fold:** Give up the hand and lose your Ante.
* **Raise:** Continue by placing a Raise worth **exactly twice your Ante**. The Raise amount is fixed and cannot be increased or reduced.
Once you have acted, the dealer reveals their remaining cards. The dealer needs **Ace-King high or better** to qualify. The lowest qualifying hand is **A-K-4-3-2**, while **A-Q-J-10-9** is the highest possible hand that does not qualify.
The result is settled as follows:
* If the dealer does not qualify, your Ante wins at **1 to 1** and your Raise pushes, meaning the Raise stake is returned without a win.
* If the dealer qualifies and your hand wins, your Ante pays **1 to 1** and your Raise pays according to the paytable below.
* If the dealer qualifies and has the better hand, you lose both the Ante and Raise.
* If the hands tie, both bets push and your stakes are returned.

## Tips to Get Started
* **Always raise with a pair or better.** These hands are strong enough to continue, and folding them gives up too much value.
* **Fold anything below Ace-King high.** A weaker unpaired hand cannot meet the standard starting point for a sensible raise.
* **Do not expect every winning raise to produce a large payout.** The dealer fails to qualify on roughly **44% of hands**. When that happens, only the Ante wins; the 2× Raise is simply returned.
* **Remember the cost of continuing.** Raising commits twice your original Ante, so make the decision based on your cards rather than chasing the larger paytable prizes.

### Treat Ace-King as the Marginal Decision
Ace-King is the only genuinely close case. Raise if the dealer’s face-up card matches one of your other three cards, or if the dealer shows an Ace or King and you also hold a Queen or Jack; otherwise, fold.
### Remember What a Raise Actually Risks
The Raise is always exactly twice the Ante, meaning you have three units at risk whenever you continue. Raising weak hands is expensive because the dealer’s qualification and final hand are completely outside your control.
### Expect to Fold Often
Optimal strategy raises on about **52% of hands**, so folding nearly half the time is normal. Do not let a run of folds tempt you into continuing with hands that fail the proper raising test.
### A Non-Qualifying Dealer Means a Modest Win
The dealer qualifies roughly **56% of the time**. On the other **44%**, your Ante pays even money but the Raise only pushes, so even an excellent hand may produce a relatively small return rather than its paytable prize.
### Understand the Cost of the Bonus Bet
The main game has a **5.22% house edge measured against the Ante**, which is already high compared with blackjack or video poker.
